In my previous post I was featuring Krug - one of the most expensive champagne brands. But there are some even more interesting luxury wine numbers - The ones sold on auctions: Champagne Louis Roederer, Cristal Brut 1990 was sold in auction in 2005 for $17,625. But that’s not even near the top. In 1985 1787 Chateau Lafitte claret engraved with the initials of Thomas Jefferson was sold for the staggering £105,000.
Krug champagne, Clos du Mesnil 1995 (a bottle for $750) is supposed to be the most expensive luxury champagne in the world. It originates from a small chardonnay vineyard in France. Only 12,624 bottles were produced. Read the rest of this entry »
