I’ve just come across the latest edition of Financial Times How to spend and saw some really interesting things in it. It is a really nice paper for rich people, but I just feel it’s a bit too pushy. Again and again I’m realizing how rich people just don’t have a good “pull” medium for their needs.
Although the editorial content in How to spend it is really well writen (in FT writing style) it is surrounded with so many ads that the luxury feeling just kind of slips away.
The only thing this magazine really shows is which brands are aiming for the rich and famous. You can see some luxury brands like Audi, Chanel, Wyler Geneve, Kiki McDonough, Edmiston, Ritz Jewellery, SubZero, Graff, Boodles, Pickett bags, TagHeuer. And than there’s a bunch of ads for luxury watches like Corum, Rolex, Breitling, Girard-Perregaux, Marcus (Audemars Piguet), Graham London …

I just think wealthy people need much more than fancy watches and fast cars in their lives. Or do they?
